What do you think of my poetry?

I have to send in two samples of writing with my Governor's School application,
what do you think of this?

The world is my canvas,
I can change or alter what I please.
If I dislike this shirt or that tree,
I can imagine it variously.

I have the ability to use my brush
to paint the sky a magnificent blue,
or sketch with my tired pencil
a resplendent rainbow for you.

I have the power to mold moods.
A bright sparkle lights your eyes;
with a glittering sprinkle of curiosity,
creativity replaces lies.

Together we can depict a vivid fairytale
with our interlacing dreams,
swell the world with violets and pinks,
its mind bursting at the seams.

The world is my canvas.
Leaving a hazy trail along the way,
letting my soul spill on the floor,
I put my passions on display.

Update: November 10, 2009.
